The MMC Team is changing, but we couldn't be happier about how it's working out. Here, I'll explain...
First, we just lost Kate to bigger and better things. As a new midwife (CNM) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), she's moved onto new things (teaching at Platte River College, home health care for disabled kids and more). But only after she brought a good friend and wonderful nurse to us from Florida - Sara Dietrich. Sara has really bonded with the team and it was great that Kate stayed on to help with the transition.
And now we are losing Cassie, which is a bummer, but we are excited for her too because she wants to stop working as an on-call midwife (i.e. Up All Night) so she can be more of a mom. We get that. And we are happy she found a job that makes use of her midwife skills and fits in with her goals (see her blog post about her January departure).
For Cassie's postion, we are getting Sarit back! Sarit used to work for us as a Junior Midwife almost 2 years ago. With her experience at Boulder Nurse-Midwives, she returns to us in February as a Senior Midwife and we are confident you will all quickly grow to love her. Seriously, she's one of those "to know her is to love her" people. We'll have more info about her on the website soon.
We are also losing Shaunti, but again we are so happy for her. She is a Certified Nurse-Midwife, but as a recent graduate we have only been using her as a nurse. She's done a great job, but now she is moving in January to Boulder Nurse-Midwives to work as a full-fledged midwife. Yep, she's taking Sarit's position. So cool.
And so we are bringing on Melissa. Our current Student Nurse-Midwife, we have come to be impressed by Melissa's experience and knowledge. In January, she will take over Shaunti's postition, and she also will be a CNM working as a nurse.
Last but not least, we are adding Molly Dickinson as a part-time midwife (CNM). Molly is helping us keep our clinic schedule full so the other midwives have the time/energy for their full schedule of call and clinic. Molly has a wealth of knowledge, experience and energy is a great fit to fill-in the role once occupied by Laura Hess Kattan, who moved with her hubby to Boston last summer.
More info about the new team members is coming soon to the "About Us" page and to our in-lobby slide show.
