New Position for Tracy, New goals for MMC

From Tracy...  I wanted to let the Mountain Midwifery community know about some of the changes taking place at MMC and our plans for the future.  I am very excited that Aubre accepted the job as Clinical Director.  She is already wonderful in her role as midwife, liaison,  staff-developer, and chief “cat herder.”  She has the skills, savvy and desire to help move MMC forward.

Meet Our New RN, Julianne

Hello! I am so happy and honored to be a part of the amazing team at Mountain Midwifery Center!  I can’t say exactly when the ‘birth bug’ bit me but it has been something I have always been passionate about and fascinated by. I lived for my OB rotations in nursing school and couldn’t imagine anything more wonderful than to support a woman as she navigated through the birth process.  After witnessing my sister give birth to my niece and reading Ina May Gaskin’s “Spiritual Midwifery” I knew I had found my calling.

We Have a New RN!

I am pleased to announce that we have filled our RN position.  We had so many wonderful applicants and it was EXTREMELY difficult to hire just one.  I want to thank every applicant for their time and effort, especially to schedule an interview on such short notice at this time of year.  Please keep a look out, coming soon will be a virtual introduction of our new RN, Julianne.

May is Waitlisted...

As of right now, we have reached our capacity for May, so we are unable to accept any additional new clients with a due date in that month.  If you're still interested in potentially becoming our patient and have a May due date, please come to an orientation. Once you've attended an orientation, you can call us and we would be happy to put you on our wait-list. If we have an opening, then we'll give you a call!

A Busy Holiday Season!

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone Happy Holidays!  As I am sure you can relate, this is an extremely busy time of the year.  We here at the birth center are, as usual, busy catching babies and supporting Mama's.  We are also trying to squeeze in some time with our own dear families.  Due to the shortened weeks as a result of the holidays, our schedule is booked.  We must keep some room in the schedule to care for our newly postpartum Mama's and thier newborns.  So unfortunatley, we do not have any availablity for Well Woman Exams or new/fi

All about Pertussis

From Aubre...
Pertussis, or Whooping Cough, is a highly contagious respiratory infection. Pertussis can affect anyone, but is particularly dangerous for the very young. In Colorado, we are experiencing a serious outbreak of pertussis.

What About the Flu Vaccine?

It is that time of year again…flu season. Many of our families have questions about the flu and the flu vaccine. Flu is a serious infection for pregnant women and their babies. One of the best defenses against the flu is a good offense, which includes diligent hand washing and good personal care. All pregnant women should get plenty of rest, drink 3-4 liters of water per day and eat fresh, nutritious foods. Clients will often ask us about the flu vaccine and if they should get it. The Centers for Disease Control, the Colora

Big News in the RN Front

One of our beloved RN's, SJ, has just given her resignation today.  She is leaving to devote more time to her family.  This is absolutely the right choice for SJ and her family, but we are sad to see her leave and wish her all the best.

This means that we now have an opening for an RN.  We would love to find the right person as soon as possible.  If you, or anyone you know, may be interested please email our Clinical Director at aubre@mountainmidwifery.com . Thanks!

An Intro from Aubre...our new Clinical Director!

Hello beautiful MMC families! I am so excited to be the new Clinical Director and share my story with you. What a long strange and wonderful trip it has been! I first learned about the birth center back in 2005, before it even existed. My husband and I had hired Tracy as our home birth midwife. I was working at University of Colorado Hospital as an RN in the Women’s Services Department. I spent time between all the units; high risk antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, well baby nursery and the neonatal intensive care

2 new employees!!!

We're happy to let you all know that in July we added Mattie to the front desk position (Heather Scott will soon be working here as one of our nurses) and in August we added Alison to the client services position (Melissa will be teaching more Childbirth classes). These 2 lovely ladies are stellar and have already added to much the MMC team! You can read more about them on our About Us page.
