MMC's High-Risk List

How Birth Center Options and Women's Care are Improved by Health Care Reform

At MMC, we never took a hard line for the Health Care reform bill. It was obvious from the start that the final vote would follow party lines, and we had specific issues we wanted the legislature to keep in mind. Here's a great summary from AABC (American Assoc of Birth Centers) about how those specific issues: Protection of birth centers in our federal system, and protection for women in federal, private and state systems.

Why a birth center? New documentary short explains...

We are very encouraged by the wonderful video by Sonya Doctorian and Colorado Public News. We had no editorial control over the video, but we couldn't be more pleased. If you're considering MMC, this short film (9 minutes) does a great job explaining who we are. If your spouse or partner is interested in us but you find out-of-hospital birth to be a strange idea, please consider what you see here.
